Eccleshall is a small market town just 7 miles outside Stafford and only 6 miles from Junction 14 of the M6. A picturesque, vibrant market town, Eccleshall has many varied shops to temp the most demanding shopper.All within an easy walking distance of each other. The many local hostelries cater for every palate, and there are cafes to tempt the weary traveler.
Full of history it was the Summer Palace of the Bishops of Lichfield for over 1,000 years, and has managed to keep its historic High Street intact.
At the end of the High Street stands the magnificent Holy Trinity Church, which is over 1,000 years old, and well worth a visit.
The parish of Eccleshall covers a large area, which includes several villages and hamlets. From Broughton and Croxton, to Pershall and Horsely, the ancient four quarters. This site enables you to take a look round Eccleshall, and to see just what events are happening in the parish during the year.
