ECCLESHALL DEVELOPMENT ALERT

The Local Development Framework (LDF) which has come from central government, is recommending that land in Eccleshall's Green Belt should be freed up to create more housing.

In Eccleshall the concerns are that there are a suggested 800 new homes to be built, the greatest increase in housing since Eccleshall was founded.

There has been no recommendation to improve the infrastructure of the Town, and there are very few sites that are designated for low cost housing.

Many local land owners have offered their land to be considered. Maps for these sites are available on the Stafford Planning web site

 www.staffordbc-consult.limehouse.co.uk/portal

Very little thought has been put into accessing these sites, one of which is through a heavily populated housing estate.

If you are concerned about the proposed development strategy for our town and countryside, please write to the address below.

Letters must be received by the Borough Council by noon on Tuesday 11th November 2008.
